ScientiFish Pictures

Where films roll online and legends roll in their graves

Welcome to the Studio

You have now entered the realm of ScientiFish Pictures: a low-budget film studio on a mission. At ScientiFish Pictures, we have one philosophy: make people laugh at the expense of a serious entity. We aim to produce pictures that make the audience smile. To achieve this, we rely on a superior team of actors who possess the uncanny ability to remain serious on screen while delivering lines such as "Does that mean you have magic dragon skills?". Post- production, writing, directing, and (very poor) cinematography are largely completed by ScientiFish's commander-in-chief, Marina (known to some as Eva V., sovietcommander, EvaBourne, or just Meredith), although with significant aid from her creative team. ScientiFish Pictures has produced a number of locally released short films, but most memorably, the YouTube.com sensation "Eragon Trailer Parody" and its companion "Eragon: The Other Movie". ScientiFish Pictures is currently producing a series of "pre-movie reviews" and "book reviews for non-readers". Share on Facebook

Hello from the studio! It's been a long time since ScientiFish Pictures has been updated, but we're ready to get back in the swing of filmmaking after a busy season. There are tons of ideas for movies that the film crew of ScientiFish have been tossing around. However, we're not quite sure which ones we will actually produce. To help us make up our minds, please vote in the new poll so that you can see your film of choice up on Youtube. In the meantime, check out the newest film--our New Year present to all of our fans, the music video "I Ride Dragons (I'm a Dragon Rider)" featuring your favorite wonder-boy Eragon.

Please post in the forums with your film ideas and any questions or requests!!

June 2nd--

It has come time for ScientiFish pictures to produce our next film project! We have two in the works that should be out by the end of the summer. The first is a set of short Harry Potter parodies. Each will feature Harry, Ron, Hermione and special appearances by professor Snape! The second is a sitcom of sorts titled "Serfs Up" about a group of serfs during the middle ages attempting to elevate themselves to the status of lords. Both of these projects are, of course, comedies. Stop by the website for updates!

March 31st--

ScientiFish is pleased to inform our fans that Eragon: The Other Movie has been completed and is currently being uploaded to YouTube in five parts. Look for it up there very shortly. When it has been finalized, the film will also be available for views in the "Films" section of this website.

Thank you for your support,
ScientiFish Pictures

Also, get those forums going! Post, post, post!

March 11th--

The new requested trailer is up! Check it out in the "Films" section, or at YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V21Ll5XQiQc

March 10th--

The official promotion vote has ended! The winning option was "New (and better) movie trailer" with an overall total of 42% of the votes. This means that you can expect a new movie trailer to be up on youtube.com shortly. Expect it this week; it has already been made! As for the full movie, it is still in the works, but we the staff of ScientiFish still stand by our promise to have it out by the end of March. When it is finished, we will be sure to upload the official poster and DVD cover, as well as cast photos and pictures from the premier.

UPDATES: New ScientiFish Forums! If you post, we'll comment.

February 24th--

ScientiFish Pictures apologizes for the extensive delay in the release of Eragon: The Other Movie. All of our schedules are very busy this time of year and it has been difficult to find the time to finish editing the film. Several draft copies of the film have been produced, but it is still lacking the finishing touches and a bit of music. Also, the last scene to be filmed is just a 3-second clip of a potted plant, but the camera crew has been unable to match this shot continuity-wise to the scene to which it falls adjacent due to snow on the ground. We are not sure what we are going to do to correct this situation, but ScientiFish has officially moved the release date until mid march. We are aware that this is disappointing, but if popular demand requests this, we will release another trailer, posters, or a scene or two from the film. Please vote.

January 29th--

Filming has finally ended! All that needs to be shot is 2 clips of flower pots (you'll see). The editing process has now begun! Expect to see the movie sometime after this weekend.

The team at ScientiFish has recently had the pleasure of viewing a new parody of the Eragon film called "Eragon-A New Beginning" in two parts. We highly recommend this amusing film, which can be viewed by clicking on the links below.

January 28th--

Good news! All the overhead airplane shots are done, and I got a great view of some of the surrounding countryside. Because of busy work schedules, it seems as though the horse scenes aren't going to happen, but I won't eliminate it as a possibility quite yet. My shoddy editing computer has also been brought up to speed, equipped with double the RAM and an extra hard drive. The last of the pick-ups are taking place tomorrow, with a fresh blanket of snow on the ground so that "Saphira" can freeze to death. Hopefully, everything will go as planned. Check in soon for the finished film.

January 21st--

Work on the Full-length Eragon parody continues. The editing process is fully underway, but additional footage is still needed. The "horse wrangler" was unavailable during filming, so the original scene involving horses was rewritten to accommodate a non-equine situation. However, it seems likely that he with the horses will be freed up sometime in the near future, allowing for some horse add-in scenes. Also, along with two other scenes to be filmed, I have consulted with my pilot acquaintance on getting some overhead shots in his airplane for the opening sequence of the film. There is still a lot of work in store for this project, but I believe it will be worth all the sweat and blood.

Shout away!
